November's Thanksgivings

Day 1: I am thankful for sweet friends who love us and enjoy hanging out with us.

Day 2: I am thankful for our family (immediate and extended). God has used each of them to mold us and shape us into who we are today. I also enjoy having a lot of people in this world who "get" me!! LOL

Day 3: I am thankful for Glen. Getting to wake up each day next to a godly man who loves the Lord above all else, loves me unconditionally, and loves our kiddos unconditionally is a huge blessing.

Day 4: I am thankful for my sister.  Sisters do make the best of friends! God certainly blessed me when HE created my sissy

Day 5: I am thankful for the sounds of little voices throughout the house. Being their Mommy is a gift.

Day 6: One year ago, Azaryah had a cluster of seizures while we were in KY. He was not sick, did not have a fever, and was totally fine up to the point of seizing. Although, his seizure lasted more than 30 minutes and he could not remember who we were for more than 5 hours, God completely healed him and has allowed him to go one full year with no more seizures and no serious side effects. I am so thankful that God saved Azaryah.

Day 7: I am thankful for the blessing of homeschooling. There is nothing I would rather do with my time than to teach and train our kiddos.

Day 8: I am thankful for the awesome group of ladies that I have the blessing of studying God's Word with on Sunday mornings and Monday nights. I sure love each of those Ladybugs.

Day 9: I am thankful for our home. God has provided three different homes for us in the past 21 years...Each one fit us perfectly at different seasons in our lives. They each hold such a special place in my heart and hold precious memories of our family.

Day 10: I am thankful for our church family and the privilege we have of worshiping together.

Day 11: I am thankful for all those who have and are serving our country. My Man is one of those Heros! God has and is using each of these great Americans to bless all of us.

Day 12: I am thankful for this group of Ladybugs...We have been studying the Word of God together on Monday nights for 6 years. I cannot tell you how much I love each one of them and how much I have learned from them!! Christina, Linda, S...hirley, Lillie, Loralee Lynnette Plummer, Michele Bontrager Showalter, Jana Motes, Sharon, Angelica, Kathy, Twila, and Stephanie Monovich-Schwarzenberger...Deanna, Charlotte, and Shirley G. also study with us.See More

Day 13: I am thankful that even though our van is not working and we really don't have extra money to fix it God has a plan and HE will provide. God's promises to give us everything we need gives us peace and assurance in every situation.

Day 14: I am thankful that God's ways are higher than ours and that no matter what the situation His children can rest in the assurance that HE is working all things for our good and His glory!

Day 15: I am thankful for God's provisions. They are tailor-made for each situation that we face. Their purpose is to expose more of the Lord God so we can love Him more.

Day 16: I am thankful for the opportunity to invest in my children. There are days that I feel overwhelmed, tired, and frustrated. There are days when my schedule is turned upside-down because one or more children need me to focus on sin issues rather than sticking to our academic schedule. There are days when I fall short as a wife and speak unkindly or rudely to my husband. But at the end of the day, I am so thankful for every moment that God has given because HE is faithful to use everything that happens during the day to open up "teachable moments" for both me and our children. I am confident that God who begins a good work in us will continue that work unto completion and that despite my failures HIS victories/truth will prevail! Being a Mommy allows me to experience God is ways that teach me humility, dependence upon Him, and how to ask for forgiveness...It also teaches me to forgive as Christ forgives me! Thank You, Lord, for the four blessings you have granted to Glen and I.

Day 17: I am thankful that our church has as heart to reach the community with the Gospel. We kicked off our 3rd annual production of Journey to Judea last night and it was fabulous! If you are local, I encourage you to attend. The dates are December 5th - December 8th.  I am also thankful that Christ became sin for me so that I could be free! We serve an amazing God!

Day 18: I am thankful for a husband who can fix our vehicles himself. Not only does he save us money but he also is teaching and training our boys to use their hands to bless their future families.

Day 19: I am thankful for God's protection.

Day 20: I am thankful for the delicious smells of a home cooked breakfast made by my Mama

Day 21: I am thankful for God's grace that sustains us through very difficult times. Praying for the entire Weaver family today as they mourn the loss of their precious Chris Weaver.

Day 22: I am thankful for a God who offers second chances through His Son!

Day 23: I am thankful for family who welcome us into their homes and share their beds and baths

Day 24: I am thankful to get to worship with Annette Black Miller, Noah Fields, and Austin Jacob Fields today.

Day 25: I am thankful for all the Ladybugs in my life! Each one inspires me, encourages me, and challenges me to be more like Christ. God is so sweet to give us precious relationships.

Day 26: I am thankful for my parents, Larry Brenda Black...They did not have an easy job being my parents! I was a difficult child with a very rebellious heart. I did not want anyone to tell me what to do or to teach me anything. Praise the Lord, HE placed a very committed heart in both of them...Neither of them ever gave up on me, walked away, or cut me out of their lives. Today, we have a pr...ecious relationship and we enjoy being together. God knows exactly what we need and HE graciously gives that to us. HE has certainly used Mama and Daddy to mold and shape me into the woman I am today. I am confident that HE used them to draw me to Himself. 2 Cor. 5:17, "We are new creations through Christ Jesus...The old is gone and all things have become new..."

Day 27: I am thankful for my Mother and Father-in-Law. They both welcomed me into their family 22 years ago and have loved me as their own daughter. Yesterday, Vilma and I took off and went shopping for a few hours...Just like old times! Boy, I sure miss living close to family but I am thankful for any time the Lord allows us to be together!

Day 28: I am thankful to be celebrating with our entire family this year...It has been WAY TOO LONG. Happy Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Thank you, Lord, for our country and our freedom

Day 29: I am thankful for a precious time of celebrating Thanksgiving, My parents 45th wedding anniversary, and Christmas with our entire family including Glen's mama and nephew yesterday. I cannot express what a blessing that was for our family! It has been YEARS since we were able to come together to celebrate together. We even hit the mall at 8:00pm and shopped till almost midnight...WHOO HOO...TOOO FUN!!!

Day 30: I am thankful for a wonderful 2 weeks in KY with our family. God was so gracious to give us safe travel to and from KY as well as good health and lots of quality time. God is so sweet

HaPpY 13th Birthday Eden!

For Eden's 13th birthday, she and I went away overnight and enjoyed some Mother/Daughter time.  Eden received her Purity Ring and she was able to get her ears pierced.  We had a family party at home today as well.  This is a birthday she will carry in her heart forever! (As will I!!)

HaPpY 11th Birthday Keziah

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful time celebrating our Savior's birth with my parents.  Mama and Daddy came out and stayed with us for two weeks.  That time was filled with lots of fun, family, and yummy food.  Mama and Daddy were able to attend several of the children's activities, go on a Double Date with Glen and I, have a nice family dinner on the Plaza enjoying the lights, and enjoying time with the children at home playing games and with their toys.  Christmas is always one of our favorite times of the year because it is filled with family and friends!
